**Call for applications opens March 2021
Brain Canada and Heart & Stroke are pleased to announce a new funding opportunity for Canadian researchers. The Heart-Brain IMPACT Award will launch in March 2021 with detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria and comprehensive information on how to apply. The multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional competition will award two team grants of up to $2.9 million each.
Brain Canada and Heart & Stroke have committed to making equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) an integral component of the Heart-Brain Connection IMPACT Award competition. EDI principles must be integrated and applied to team assembly, research design, methods, analysis and interpretation, and dissemination of research findings. Applicants of diverse backgrounds will be encouraged to apply for this funding opportunity.
Following the launch of the competition, interested applicants will first be required to register a team and then submit a Letter of Intent (LOI), providing an overview of the project they intend to pursue, by May 2021. The LOI will be peer reviewed and select applicants will be invited to proceed to the Full Application phase. The deadline for Full Applications is in September 2021.
