Chief Research and Programs Officer

This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and innovative organization that is enabling excellence in brain research across Canada and around the world.

Since 1998, Brain Canada has had a positive impact on brain research and health outcomes. The organization and its supporters have invested $250 million in 300 research projects at 115 institutions across the country.

As Chief Research and Programs Officer (CRPO), reporting to the President & CEO, you are a key mission ambassador who champions and supports an aspirational and bold future for Brain Canada. You develop and deliver on Brain Canada’s long-term strategic research priorities and goals. Your mandate includes engaging regularly with the Canadian research community, the Government of Canada, partners and research funders, universities, and the international brain research community. You lead a dedicated program team, overseeing the design, implementation, and delivery of all research funding programs and initiatives. You drive program innovation and ensure they meet the standards of excellence that have defined Brain Canada’s success over two decade.

As the ideal candidate, you have in-depth knowledge of design, implementation, and delivery of scientific funding competitions. You have developed and promoted best practices in research administration and in the management of funded projects, research, and training programs. You are an excellent relationship-builder, team player and communicator who is comfortable interacting in both official languages. A graduate degree in neuroscience or a related discipline (Ph.D., MPA, MBA, etc.) would be an asset.
