More than 70 youth leaders, advocates, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders came together in Toronto on November 15 for an open exchange on youth mental health, hosted by Brain Canada, with support from RBC.

More than 70 youth leaders, advocates, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders came together in Toronto on November 15 for an open exchange on youth mental health, hosted by Brain Canada, with support from RBC.

Through conversation and shared learning, the day-long Igniting Hope event provided a forum for young people to discuss their ideas and concerns, form connections, face difficult realities, and create hope for change and action in youth mental health in Canada.

Attendees learned more about the Canadian Youth Mental Health Insight Platform and its potential to improve access to services, information, and educational tools. As well, there were discussions around research advances, breaking down barriers, advocating for change at the political level, the challenges around school-based mental health, substance use, and the role of storytelling as medicine.
