2016 Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship

Project Overview

The overarching aim of Ms Morena’s research is to investigate the role of the endocannabinoid system in the modulation of memory processes and its interaction with stress and emotional arousal in animal models of cognition, at a cellular, circuit and behavioural level. Her career goals are: To be an independent principal investigator in academia and to lead research projects in her own laboratory, as well as training students and teaching classes in a work environment that ensures prolific scientific productivity and active collaborations.

Being in the third year of postdoctoral training, attending and presenting research results at international conferences it is of crucial importance for young researchers, in order to network with important scientists, exchange ideas and establish international collaborations, all of which are critical to achieve career goals. The Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship provided Ms. Morean with the opportunity to attend two prestigious and expensive conferences: The 26th Annual International Cannabinoid Research Society (ICRS) Symposium on the Cannabinoids in Bukovina, Poland (June 27-30 2016) and the 10th FENS forum of Neuroscience in Copenhagen, Denmark (July 2-6 2016).
