Cooking Together: promotions and resource development
Project Overview
Cooking Together is an innovative project that provides the opportunity for developing new relationships between generations while cooking and eating together. Youth (aged 18- 30) work with persons with dementia to develop recipes and eat together. Recipes are based on the principles of Brain Health Food Guide and the MIND diet and youth are mentored on their interactions with persons living with cognitive impairment. Based on the successful pilot of Cooking Together, ASRP/BCF Knowledge Translation and Exchange Accelerator funds will be used to co-develop:
a) a promotional video
b) a comprehensive leaders’ manual
c) video tape and archive for future use
d) the production of recipes by a chef and person living with dementia and
e) identify new opportunities for engaging older adults and youth in Cooking Together by hosting one-off sessions to promote the program.
This funding will support the translation of the knowledge gained through our successful Cooking Together program funded by ASC/BCF.
