Brain Canada is pleased to, once again, offer the 2021 Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship – a grant created in memory of neuroscientist Dr. Hubert van Tol. Since 2012, the Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowships has been awarded to 12 recipients from across Canada to sponsor their attendance at different events and meetings around the world.

Due to the current travel restrictions, this year’s award will exceptionally support the virtual attendance of two awardees to an international conference/symposium or training course.

The Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship is open to all doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows performing research as part of a team that has received a Brain Canada grant. One recipient from each category will be selected by an expert committee to receive up to $1,000.

Funding for the Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship is thanks to the generous support of the Seger-van Tol family.

Increasing equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in research environments enhances excellence, innovation and creativity. Brain Canada is committed to excellence through equity, and we encourage applicants of diverse backgrounds to apply to our funding opportunities.
