We are deeply saddened by the passing of Eddie Goldenberg on July 9, 2026.
As a valued member of our Board, Eddie brought extraordinary insight, wisdom, and leadership to our organization. Throughout a distinguished career in public service, law, public policy, and governance, he earned widespread respect for his intellect, sound judgment, and unwavering commitment to Canada.
Eddie was a passionate advocate for Canada's research ecosystem and believed deeply in the power of talent, innovation, and discovery to strengthen our country's future. Those who had the privilege of working with him will remember not only his remarkable accomplishments, but also his generosity, collegiality, and dedication to serving others.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his partner, Caroline Weber; his mother, Shirley Goldenberg; and all of his family, friends, and colleagues. Our thoughts are with them as they celebrate and remember a life of exceptional service, impact, and purpose.
