Dynamic palmitoylation regulates TDP-43 nucleocytoplasmic transport in ALS

Common features in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) include misdirected proteins that build up over time and lead to large protein clumps that are toxic to the cell and lead to cell death.

Monitoring and Modulation of Alpha Synuclein in Microglia: Implications for Parkinson’s Disease

In this study, we. aim to do two things: 1) monitor the distribution of a-Syn in Parkinson’s disease (PD) context to understand the factors that can cause a-Syn to build-up in certain cells of the brain, called microglia.

Developing machine learning models of disease progression and survival outcomes in ALS patients: evaluating the utility of structural brain MRI as an ALS biomarker

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder with no known cure, leading to progressive loss of motor function and ultimately the death of the patient.

Role of neurofilament NFL depletion in TDP-43-mediated pathogenesis

This proposal is based on our finding of substantial depletion of neurofilament synthesis in mouse models of ALS with abnormal accumulations of TDP-43, a hallmark of the disease.
