2019 Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship
Aperçu du projet
I was selected to present a poster during one of the 2 poster sessions. The project I presented was aimed at deciphering the molecular function of the Boc receptor in axon guidance. This receptor is necessary for the activation of Shh signaling but how Boc receptor binding to Shh triggers signaling activation remained unknown. I found that Boc acts via Numb as a Shh-dependent endocytic platform for Ptch1 internalization and Shh-mediated axon guidance. These results are now published in the journal Neuron. This was a perfect time for me to meet several experts and advertise these findings. I got some interesting ideas and new suggestions concerning the results that I showed. These discussions are very useful to get new directions to orient the future of these projects. In particular, it gave me the chance to discuss with several French researchers with whom I have developed new collaborations for my future projects.
