Aperçu du projet
Mitochondrial dysfunctions are observed before and during the progression of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). It is important to understand how the regulation of mitochondria is impaired in AD. The c-Src kinase has appeared as an important regulator of mitochondria. The aim of this research program is to explore, for the first time, the involvement of mitochondrial c-Src in the onset and the development of AD. This will be achieved through two specific axes. On one hand, Dr. Chatelain and his team will observe the development of AD hallmarks in cellular and mouse models lacking c-Src kinase. On the other hand, the tam will examine the activity of mitochondrial c-Src in cellular and mouse models of AD. The identification of key molecular events mediated by mitochondrial Src kinases during AD progression will further our understanding of disease onset and progress and contribute to develop treatments for AD.
